  Ashton Hall Garden Centre Today visited the newly refurbished Garden Centre, but actually it's just the cafe that's been greatly extended. Very nice too but the prices for food have been increased somewhat and will now deter my otherwise fairly frequent visits for lunch! This year there seems to be less plants for sale both inside and out, but hopefully more in soon for Spring and Summer. Lots of nice classy goods in shop area if you are looking for a gift or for treating yourself! I've been buying my plants and garden stuff here for over 40 years and enjoying a coffee in the early days'caravan cafe up to the present day cafe, but do wonder at the direction this "garden centre" is going. Will it now be seen as an eating place destination, or a mainly trendy retail centre, with just a token garden centre presence?
